SEVEN MILE STORIES: MEET LISA

Lisa has lived in Waltham her whole life and is staring death in the face as she battles terminal cancer.

Now, for the first time in her life, she is asking questions of ultimate significance and wanted to meet a pastor. Her friend, who is connected to Seven Mile Waltham, introduced her to Clint. Until a couple weeks ago, she had never owned or read the Bible. A few weeks later, she came to Gospel Community where she read and learned about The Father with Two Sons (Luke 15). That night, Lisa struggled to find the passage as she nervously flipped through the pages. No one looked down on her. Instead, the family of God, embraced her and affirmed her.

Watching her read this story for the first time was nothing short of amazing. When the father in the story said, “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found,” Lisa told the group about how she almost didn’t come because she feels lost. She interacted with the text the whole time and at the end said, “I am the older brother.” She believes she has lived a good life and can’t understand why God hasn’t thrown a party for her. She was honest with the group about her anger toward God and we prayed for her. She continues to meet with Clint to learn more about the Gospel and how grace finds us and makes us alive.

The Lord is using a family of believers in Waltham to show her the daily the goodness, truth, and beauty of Jesus.

This is Seven Mile Road.

SEVEN MILE ROAD MALDEN

We had nine new folks jump into our first membership class of the year with a long list of people ready for the next one later this month. And here’s the exciting part: we had diverse disciples from Romania, Dominican Republic, Philippines, & Boston all in a room together!
Also, Robin Jeong, our worship intern, produced and released an Advent song called “Tears & Joy” to bless our family. Take a listen when you can!
