Remembering Herb Anderson

Herbert Anderson (1929-2021)

The Reverend Herbert (Herb) Edward Anderson, 92, passed away on December 6, 2021.  Herb was a long-time member of the CCCC, joining the Conference in 1961.  He served as Senior Pastor of the Snyder Avenue Congregational Church in South Philadelphia, PA (SACC-Philly) for more than 50 years.  

He led this church through many changes and left a church that is a model of effective ministry in an urban setting. He was involved in the life of the CCCC in many ways and became a statesman for our fellowship in the Eastern Pennsylvania region.  He is survived by his beloved wife and dearest friend, Sharon; sons, Scott (Peggy), Robert (Susan), and Brian (Karen); and his daughter Sherri.
