Annual Gathering Recap

Scott Nice, Conference President

We’ve recently wrapped up our 76th Annual Gathering of the CCCC in beautiful Rhode Island! It was such a blessing to spend the week with just over 300 of our member ministers and church leaders! I was so encouraged to see so many familiar faces along with a whole lot of first-time attendees!

Our theme was “The Great Multitude”. Conference Minister, Ron Hamilton, opened our gathering with an excellent exposition of Galatians 3:28 – 4:7. Our main speaker, Mathew John, shared three messages that focused on the Oneness of the body of Christ and living out of that Oneness. A personal take away for me was the idea that we “don’t do church on Sunday mornings”. Sunday mornings are for rest and recharging our spiritual batteries. We “do church Monday through Saturday. “, as we go out to minister to the world.

We accomplished much in the three delegate meetings. What a great joy and privilege it was to preside over those meetings! They were life-giving, spirited, and marked by a gracious and “family like” atmosphere. The humble and loving way our members conducted themselves reminded me of why I’m a member of this Conference. Please continue to pray for our Conference, as there is so much more to do for the Kingdom.

In closing, I want to thank Susan Moody for her 11 years of service at our AG Coordinator. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty. This year’s gathering was exemplary. There are no words to express my appreciation to her, so I simply say: Thank you, Susan, so very, very much.
