What People Are Saying About Modern Day Pilgrims
The CCCC national leadership team afforded us the privilege to work with them over a decade as we sought out together all the Father had called the movement to be from their inception to the present.
Similar to our work with other denominations, we considered this a sacred trust to come alongside brothers and sisters to facilitate a holy moment where the fullness of God finds full expression in the
identity, capacity, and destiny of the denomination. The leaders were passionate, honest, repentant, teachable, prophetic, and inspired by Holy Spirit. God guided these amazing disciples of Jesus to the sacred place where the past, present, and future met. All of this came to be with revelational clarity, as a culture of healthy, reproducing leaders came to light in passionate submission to fostering a movement of disciples that make disciples who love God with all they are, love others with all He is, and make disciples as they live life. It has been an honor to journey with these brothers and sisters, and we anticipate the best years for the CCCC are yet to come.
-Mike Chong Perkinson and Tom Johnston, The Praxis Center for Church Development
This account of the CCCC, documenting the development of its structure, shows their humble faithfulness to the movement, long-term commitment, and transparent accountability telling the story of both struggles and victories. Unlike denominations who direct their member churches and collect assessments, they exist to support the ministry to their pastors and churches. This has enabled them to serve the churches by offering them direction where to go regardless of the chapter of their life they are in as autonomous congregations. As this collection of reports shows, they have done it in such a way that the number of local congregations in their network continues to grow. This is a valuable report describing an inspiring ministry, providing hope to stay on God’s track for the future.

Every family needs to know its history. Why are things the way they are? These stories shape a family’s identity, sense of belonging, and place in the world. While Modern Day Pilgrims is a meticulous chronicle of how decisions were made, what committees debated, and where the finances came, this book is more deeply a genealogy of ministry. In these pages, we discover the pulse that animates the CCCC and the faith required for reinvention, not merely as an institution but as a movement responsive to the Spirit and mission of God. This account does more than look to the past to provide a history. It is a summons to stretch toward the future. What is God asking of this family tree of the people of God? All the good pilgrims of the CCCC will benefit from knowing their history, but anyone interested in discovering how God’s Spirit guides and renews vision will be blessed.
